System Requirements

ON-PREMISE SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS

On premise is for those who want to run their copy of FusionDox on their in-house server:

Server Requirements:

FusionDox is designed to run on a dedicated server-class machine. The primary reason we recommend a dedicated server is for performance. Depending on the number of users who regularly access FusionDox, the hardware and storage requirements will change.

The minimum system requirements are:
Pentium IV class Server
Microsoft Windows 2000/2003 Server Standard
512 MB Ram
IIS 5 or newer (Web service, SMTP service)*
Microsoft SQL Server 2000
ColdFusion 7 Standard/Professional or newer or Railo 3.1 Open Source or newer
Average of 1 GB of available database storage space, per user, per year**

The recommended system requirements are:
Dual Core/Dual Processor Class Server
Microsoft Windows 2003/2008 Server
4 GB Ram or more
IIS 6/7 (Web service, SMTP service)*
Microsoft SQL Server 2005/2008
ColdFusion 8 Enterprise or Railo 3.1
Average of 1 GB of available database storage space, per user, per year**

* FusionDox uses all of these services.
** This is a conservative average. This depends heavily on how extensively FusionDox is utilized and for the type of content managed. (For example, storing large media files will greatly increase this average)

Note: It is possible that FusionDox can run in system requirements less than the minimum system requirements for staging and development purposes, however for performance reasons, it is not recommended to be used in a production environment.

End-user Requirements:

The following are system requirements for end-users to connect to and use FusionDox:

Microsoft Windows 2000 SP2 or newer, Mac OSX 10.5 or newer, modern Linux distributions
Microsoft Internet Explorer 6 (or newer), Firefox 3 (or newer)
256M Ram (512M or more recommended)
Disable pop-up blockers for FusionDox*
Anti-Virus software**
Microsoft Office, Open Office, or other productivity software

* Many operating systems and web browsers include built-in pop-up blockers, which allow you to list sites that are exceptions. Yahoo, Google, and other 3rd party software vendors provide pop-up blockers. See your product's documentation for instructions on listing specific websites to allow pop-ups.

** FusionDox will work with most modern anti-virus software programs. We recommend using McAfee, Norton Anti-Virus, ClamWin or AVG software. Any anti-virus software that scans incoming and outgoing files should work fine. Be sure to keep your virus definitions updated.
